What's buzzing around the world of ADAS....
![]() At the start of the coronavirus lock-down, as ADAS members began to realise the effect that it would have on the normal functioning of the Society, a smartphone-based WhatsApp Group was quickly created. A weekly theme was decided in advance, and members created artworks accordingly, uploading them to the site, and using it as a base to communicate, critique work, etc. And what a success it has been!
Set up and run by fellow members Hugh Dickson and Liz Campbell, the group has undoubtedly been a 'life-saver' for many during the most difficult and trying of times. Members were able to continue painting and contributing to a ‘Lock-down Archive’ of paintings, sketches, and photos on various subjects over Spring and Summer 2020. The WhatsApp Group continues to be a valuable resource for members to communicate with each other, too, into 2021. The immediacy of communicating with fellow artists and friends, has helped immeasurably, as well as showcasing their work. It is possible that a photo-book may be produced, at some point, displaying works from ADAS members over the lock-down period. Here are a some of the en plain air meeting artworks at Elterwater village from September 2020, and February 2021's 'Domestic Interior' session contributions. ![]() Update on the Library limited services opening hours
